The person behind Momentum

I’ve been on both sides of the growth conversation.

I bring over 25 years of commercial leadership, building the strategy, sales process and relationships that turn opportunity into revenue.

From hospitality and property to professional services and ambitious SMEs, I’ve seen what happens when a great offer has no clear route to market, and when marketing activity is disconnected from the people responsible for sales.

Today I bring that experience into businesses as a fractional Commercial Director. I work with owners and teams to sharpen the offer, connect the right people and turn a plan into accountable action.

A wider view of business growth

MAFIC. Find what is holding the business back.

Co-founded with Chris Jones, MAFIC is our strategic business advisory. We work with owners who need a clear view of the business before committing more time, money or people to growth.

The first step is diagnosis: find the blind spots, understand their commercial impact and decide what deserves attention first.

MAFIC looks across the business, from direction and decision-making to sales, operations and follow-through. The result is a practical set of priorities that owners can act on with confidence.

01Identify the blind spots
02Set the commercial priorities
03Put the right changes in motion

Momentum helps execute the commercial growth plan. Gain Momentum makes the activity and accountability visible. MAFIC provides a broader diagnostic and advisory perspective when the challenge reaches beyond sales and marketing.

What I believe

Visibility is good. Commercial progress is better.

More posts, more leads or another tool can all play a part. But first, the offer needs to be clear, the right people need to hear it and someone has to own the follow-up. That is where I focus.

01Know who you want to win
02Say something worth hearing
03Connect marketing with sales
04Follow through and measure what matters
My commercial journey

From business owner to commercial growth partner.

I’ve owned and operated businesses, led teams and carried responsibility for commercial performance. That experience shapes the practical way I work with founders today.

25+

years in sales and marketing, spanning hospitality, property and business growth.

A business I built

Monopoly Buy Sell Rent.

I built a Chester-based Monopoly Buy Sell Rent franchise into an award-winning estate agency business. It gave me direct experience of establishing a local brand, earning customer trust and growing a business in a competitive property market.

As an owner, I was accountable for the whole commercial picture: attracting clients, converting opportunities, leading the team and delivering the service. That is the experience I bring into the businesses I support today.

Hospitality ownership & operations

14 pubs and bars. Over £2 million annual turnover.

I ran and operated a portfolio of 14 pubs and bars, with combined annual turnover exceeding £2 million. It gave me hands-on experience of managing multiple venues, leading teams and making the commercial decisions that keep a business moving.

Across hospitality and property, I’ve carried the responsibility for winning customers, delivering the service and making the numbers work. Those experiences underpin my work with business owners today.

Today, I’m the founder of Momentum and Gain Momentum, co-founder of MAFIC, and author of The Glue: Why Sales & Marketing Must Stick Together.

The book

The idea that holds it all together.

The Glue is my case for treating sales and marketing as one commercial system. It looks at the gap between being seen and being bought from, and the practical work that closes it.

It is also the thinking behind Momentum and the Gain Momentum platform.
